The auction held at the Post Office Museum this afternoon was a quiet and subdued affair with almost all of the attendees silent throughout the whole time. The people became alive after the last item was called, one by one they talked, walked around and chat with friends, comparing observations and comments. There were only a handful of coins but cheap ones so it is worth the trouble of getting there. I got eight coins, cheapest I have taken in years (actually the silver uspi coins were half the price of its silver content). It is a bargain.

al.plata....how much is the buying and selling at quiapo and mabini on those 1907s peso and 1903s peso?. maybe they are not doing business there.

during 1980. quiapo 1907s peso buying at 25 peso and selling at 26 peso. i was able to buy 300 piece from VF and up. and bring it to new york. i was regret that i did not buy from a guy with 200 piece of 1911s-12s at 75 peso each. and also 300 piece of commemorative BU 1963-64 at 75 peso too. cause during that time. that guy is selling me at a high premium. i can easily buy 45 peso for 1903s. p.s. i also bought 100 piece of 1903s-1905s from VF and up.

furthermore. i also regret for not buying those 1903s-05s twenty centavos and 1885 and 1866 spanish era twenty centavos at a very bargain price. cause i hate fractional. anyway time have pass. right now i am concentrate on u.s. mint products. and that is where i can make huge money on it.

al.plata and josie. i think you are both very active in philippine coinage and frequently wrote a lot at this forum.. hope you will enjoy this beautiful hobby and make money too.

p.s. thinking of visiting philippines late this year or next year. it's been 28 year absent from this beautiful country. surely will visit some of those hobbyist old friends and stores.
