Coin Auctions

A friend told me that there was a coin auction yesterday but I was not able to get wind of it and besides, I was spending the weekend outside the city with my family and relatives. We were celebrating my son's passing his PRC license exam. Another coin auction is scheduled on February 27, 2011 (Sunday). This coming auction will be conducted by Bayanihan Collectors Club at the Tropical Hut Resto (Humburger House 2nd Floor) at the corner of Sct. Borromeo St. and Panay Ave., Brgy. South Triangle, QC.

The list consists of Five Hundred Line items and I can not type those as it will take me a whole day to do that, as you know my eyes are not that reliable and I have to look closely at each line, and even discounting the fact that I type very slow. Anyway, I tried also going to the website to see if the list provided me by JC Coins & Antiques (of Jun Cuartero) is complete or any changes have been made. There are not that much coins on sale in the auction. Mostly listed are old books and documents. Even crown size coins are very few.

Last week's coin auction was being talked about by old timers. It seems that there were some people who are very observant and they noticed something they did not like. Anyway, since I was not there I can not pass it on as it will be just hearsay. We must expect that nothing problematic comes out next week. There are only a few coins listed and some are priced a bit high, maybe it will not attract buyers, but I will be there to bid on some low priced coins.

I was attending local coin auctions way back then but I already stopped because i noticed that there are lot of bullies out there, especially war mongers and war freak old-timers. Masyado ng tuso. If you'll noticed the population or attendance with the local auctions have not increased if not for the help of the internet. If I were you, I'll be cautious in dealing with them. It is a very common practice in the local auction to falsely accused one another. If not for the advent of the internet and ebay, these coin mafias would have still controlled the trade of coins using their "fake this" and "fake that" technique. They call coins fake if it is not theirs but accused others of holding fakes if they want to sabotage a collector. Be careful with your dealings my friend. You have no idea how cruel some of these people are. Very Happy

@mahilig_sa_coins...ngayon ko lang narinig yan. Hindi naman kasi ako bumibili sa mga dealer dyan dahil mas gusto ko ang mag-hunt ng mga coins sa bangketa.
