| i hope the central bank of the philippines and or the government of the republic of the philippines will issue philippine eagle one ounce bullion gold and silver coins. obverse - same with that of 1903-06 silver peso obverse. reverse - show philiipine eagle with central bank seal or philippine seal. a proof version for collectors is welcome too. and the series should be continue in every year. remember, we are also a producing nation. australia, canada, china, u.s.a. and elsewhere were producing it. and produce it in big quantity. why not us. the philippines. this one is very popular now. what is your opinion?. tell us. | |

| bullion coins were intended for investors as well as collectors to invest or to play the silver market. those coins usually goes with the price of silver. it is just like the rectangular silver bar. but again. sometimes the mintage of a certain year is quite low. thus collectors can push up the price of that silver bullion coin and become a collector's item. so it is better to invest official bullion round coin rather than private minted round or bar coins. on the other hand. the proof version is intended for collectors only. but with high premium attached. | |

| Hi! Bullion coins here are those worn out and defaced coins, most likley candidates to the melting pot. The central bank does not mint bullion coins anymore and thus, collectors just improvised the meaning and adopted it to other coins that may be consider of the same worth. | |

| bar weight such as 100 grams, 50 grams, 20 grams, 10 grams 5 grams 1 grams,
round wight such as 10 oz. 5 oz. 2 oz. 1 oz. 1/2 oz. 1/4 oz. 1/10 oz. 1/20 oz.
face value depend which country and what kind of amount they want to put it.
most likely they produce a lot of it.
a very little premium is added to offset any expensive.
some bullion coins due to low mintage may take off its price. bar bullion usually stay within its gold or silver range.

| Yes.
It will go to gold reserve, solver or precious metal.
Import and export and also deficit but most most of all our national debt.
Just a comment during this Global recession,I dont know whos country its economy is high or its currency.
Just make the peso stable first can add silver on it.
Cannot change the way it is the world is not in bullion currency I think.
Thank you for the info Abe.
Well I did try just want the peso to increase its value and accepted in all banks in the world both coin and paper currency.

| The Philippines is currently the 17th largest gold producing country in the world. This is a respectable standing.
Gold or silver bullion coin production is contingent on three main factors: availability of refined ore (which we have), low production costs, and a vigorous marketing program to sell the bullion coins in G20 countries and emerging Asian economies.
"Low production costs" are the mountain for us to climb, because we are only now gaining the full capability to produce the bulk of our circulation coins, and it may take some time before we can strike high-quality uncirculated and proof coins at low unit costs necessary to enter the bullion coin market. Currently, the production costs (which are not driven by labor inputs) are too high to make entry into this market practical. The good news is: that is beginning to change for the better in the Philippines!
Then there is the supremely important issue of marketing. Our home market currently cannot absorb sizable bullion coin production and, in fact, ALL the countries now in this market depend on foreign sales. We must develop the Philippine reputation for producing quality coins, and get our message out in a very tight and competitive marketplace that is dominated by players of long standing.
Personally I don't think a Jeffreys eagle is a good theme for Philippine bullion pieces. The name "Eagle" is recognized worldwide as a popular bullion piece distributed by the United States. We need a different name that is easily identified with the Philippines by outsiders.
There is a lot of numismatic talent among the members of this discussion group. Can anyone suggest a different theme and name for future Philippine bullion gold and silver coins?

| On theme and name.
Eagle for me just a comment represents freedom but I like chicks gathered in the hens wings.
Flora and fauna is good mostly Filipino.
There is a bull or tamaraw, symbolism in bull is the one who flow the fileds, seen some national geograhic episode about a pack of lioness targeting the alpha bull the herd try to protect the alpha bull for it is a price possescion of the herd, but the lioness succeed.
There is also the lion the protector of the pack the one who confront the advesaries, hyenna or other lion offering his life to the pack, just like the movie nania.
Brave as a Lion tame as a Lamb.
There is also palay seen some celtic coins with weath on it or corn a fruit bearing plant.
It could be flora and fauna theme but with more meaning now.
It is good to see in Phillipines coin to Glorify and Honor God.
As other inscription in other countries.

| the silver bullion uncirculated coin should have a size of 40.6mm (same with american eagle) and the silver proof should have a size of 45.1mm (same with australian lunar series II). that is my hope and dream. | |

| Someone may be able to expand on this, but I have always related the changes in the BSP logo to modernization and evolution, and the concept that simplicity strengthens the design - as with most graphics. | |
