Hello Komusta!

I am a Canadian silver bullion dealer coming to the area in September and I would like to know how the local silver market is in the area? My wife is Pinay and we are travelling back there to visit family.

Anyone who is looking for nice silver bullion coins from Canada at very good pricing please contact me here at the forum and I will bring what I can. I am looking to offer bullion and old Canada silver coins, pre 1966, to regular people 1st before I would sell or trade to a dealer.

I will have 2011 .9999 pure silver 1 troy ounce maples and bears
2011 American Silver Eagles.
1st Majestic Silver Rounds....Canadian silver producer

Also if anyone knows of any trade shows happening around September would be appreciated to know.

there is an auction on September 4, 2011 at the 2nd floor, Tropical Hut (burger) Resto located at the corner of Scout Borromeo Street and Panay Avenue, Brgy. South Triangle, Quezon City (near the big National Book Store and behind the Mercury Drug Store along Quezon Avenue) where a lot of collectors and dealers will be. Local silver market is pretty strong especially for american silver eagles and canadian silver maple leafs. typically local dealers sell these bullion coins at least $5 over spot price with some dealers selling them for much higher up to $15 over spot.

I personally am interested in your canadian coins especially the pre 1966 coins. We have some dealers selling those here but they are pretty uncommon compared to the bullion coins.

perhaps you know of other dates and places.

I kind of thought Canadian pre 1966 silvers would be if interest there. Can you give me a rough idea of the pricing you are seeing? both in USD or PHP. If decent I will buy more old silvers and bring them too as most people here want new bullion they are selling old silver here pretty cheap. since the spot price has moved up a lot this week I can probably get more now from private sellers.

Do you see any Grizzly bear 1oz silver coins around? They are 1 million mintage and selling here for 5 over spot. Cool

The last time i bought some pre 1966 canadian coins here was 2 or 3 weeks ago and i bought them for Php 900 per piece or around USD 21 but of course that was during the time that silver was a lot cheaper. Im sure it will be more expensive now. Most coin dealers when selling the pre 1966 silver coins base their selling price on the silver spot price + a cetain premium. At the moment i don't know yet how much they are selling the coins for because it appears that they've sold out of the canadian coins.

The only grizzly bear i've seen so far are on ebay.ph but they are selling for a huge premium.

hi bro, I am interested in your 1 ounce maples and bears. when exactly after sept 4 will you be arriving?

we are hoping you can sell cheaper as some sellers here ain't selling with the correct premium. that's why we kinda stay away from them until they lower the total price.

They wont be sold out of coins for too long. I will have some dollars, 1/2 dollars, and 25 cents and I also have some older american dollars and half dollars.

Our dollar is close to par with USD now maybe just .10 cents more now.The grizzly bear here is about 4-5 over spot. They used to be everywhere now stock is drying up. I have a few tubes in stock. The Timber Wolf is very scarce. Dealers here will pay 10-14 over spot for it. I just want to sell a few coins for my vacation cash so it wont be like I will be bringing 10 grand worth of silver. pirat

the only other site i know of that has regular updates is on facebook. This forum is pretty much updated on the auctions though since once an auction is announced, someone posts it here immediately.

im interested in the grizzly bear coin. me and my wife went to canada earlier this year and were hoping to get a few pcs of the grizzly bear, unfortunately it was released a few days after we had to leave so we had to settle for a few timber wolf coins and a couple of tubes of the regular maple leafs. Please keep us informed as to when you will be arriving Very Happy

I will have maples and bears with me and at the correct premium. I am only bringing enough with me to sell off for vacation funds. So I wont have a lot. Its better then currency exchange. Whats your estimate of exact premium and what are people asking over spot? People can ask what they want but do they sell at $10 usd over? what is php price on maples and bears you have seen lately? My premium wont be $10 over thats for sure.

As for exact date I will contact folks privately when I am in town once i get a mobile phone and sim. I am looking to set something up near Angeles or San Fernando area preferably and sometime after the 7th. Then a day later in Manila. Its all tentative for now. Once I arrive I can get a mobile and I will post the number here for calls or txt.

i am no scammer and no stranger to Philippines. I been there 4 times and I have a thriving part time silver business in my local area in Ontario. I sell about $75,000 a month in silver and some gold as well.

Let hope for one after the 7th. the bears i will have and would idealy like to spread them around so people who want some can have some at a fair price. You got a wolf then you did well. The wolf is now $12-$15 over spot and sell at $65-$70 USD on Ebay and its very scarce. I cannot order them.

The mint has released the 3rd animal. Its a cougar! Cool

yes, i got 10 pcs of the timber wolf the last time i went to vancouver. unfortunately it was all the local coin shop had in stock at the time. they even ran out of the regular silver maple leafs. please keep us informed about your trip Very Happy

Unfortunately for anyone reading this thread now I have brought only enough silver maples and bears to fill for the 4 people that have sent me pms and emails. I was not sure how smooth things would have gone and I did not want to risk bringing over 100oz of silver with me so far away.

However I do also have some old Canadian silver dollars and 50 cent pieces from 1966 and earlier I can offer if anyone is still interested. Great to see a market for the metal here and watch out for silver to continue to rise in value over the next 3 years! bom
