I had checked on the site.. Red flag to.. 3 days auction. Seller has zero or no feedback yet. But buyers were still willing to risk and to bid as high as $400??? Hindi kaya self bidding lang to to pad the seller's feedback? seller name is xxxx456456 para bang naglalaro lang ng username like xxxx123123 or xxxx234234 repetitive numbers...

Also I observed the patterned of the bidding war - from $125 it jumped to $200, from $232 it jumped again to $300, from $303 the biggest jump - it goes and end at $405! Jacking up the value?

But as you guys said, first time you see it, there's something not right about it.

I am just amazed that somebody bidded Ps 17,000 + for it. Kawawa naman if it's a counterfeit. On the other hand the bidders are shown as private biding, so we really can't tell if it's shill or otherwise.

thanks for the heads up. saw the coins of urich. felt something was wrong but i couldnt quite wrap my fingers around it.

If you'll check their current listings. One of them listed an 8 reales minted in Popayan Colombia. The coin looks authentic or genuine if not for one flaw. The nose of Carolus seem odd which is the same die being used for modern day Popayan 8 reales. Other coins which have already been reported on Ebay are cast 8 reales cobs which came here from the Philippines. I think this is a counterfeit ring operated by a Chinese syndicate where coins made in China are sold by way of the Philippines to mislead authorities and at the same time destroy the local coin market.

Yang ernestodu01 na yan ay lagi kong nakikitang nagbebenta ng coins sa ebay na hindi ko pa nakikita sa mga local coin dealer dito...kaya unang tingin ko pa lang ay tingin ko ay isa siyang scammer. Malamang ay mga pictures lang yon na nahanap niya sa internet.

One is from Bais City and one from Dumaguete City. Both are from Negros Oriental. Could it be that these guys are just one person/seller? Both would only accept paypal, so we can't really know their real name unlike when we pay them thru bank to bank deposit. If not the same person, maybe they both have the same supplier.
