| A coin can never be termed as RARE if there are many of it in existence and it is just several years old. An example would be the USPI coin series of 1944 and 1945. The Americans had to bring in to the Philippines about a BILLION coins after the 2nd World War. Thus, any 1944 and 1945 USPI coin can never be termed as RARE. With regards to pricing it will be next to impossible to sell a coin for so much. A 1944 One Centavo USPI coin in Brilliant and Uncirculated condition, is valued only at P100 at local auctions and is seldom sold, because this coin is very abundant and almost all collectors have more than one. | |

| Ano opinyon mo sa US 1974 aluminum cent??? Nasa 1,571,167pcs ang na-mint. Yung rarity ay depende rin sa dami ng na-release sa circulation para sa akin. | |

| You are right Newbie, a coin is considered rare if there are very few in circulation but maybe true only for as long as there are very few in circulation. If the supply suddenly became very large then it is no longer rare and the demand goes down. | |

For British N to rare to extremely rare.
It must go through authentication, attribution, and grading to reference book to specialized reference book then to number minted, grade in hands of collector then their rarity, just a comment. | |
