Here are the story and the link to the BSP release of the Asian Development Bank commemorative 500 piso note. Interesting that the BSP chose the old note design to debut this issue.

MANILA, Philippines - The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) released a P500 banknote with an overprint of the logo of the 45th annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which is currently being held in Manila.
The BSP is releasing a total of 10 million pieces of the P500 banknote, which are available to the public through banks around the country.
The issuance of a P500 banknote with the ADB meeting logo was to "express solidarity with the ADB’s goal to free Asia and the Pacific from poverty." The ADB estimates around 1.8 billion people are living in poverty in the region.
The ADB meeting, which attracted top central bankers, businessmen, bankers, delegates and media from all over the world, opened in Manila last May 2. The last day of the event is tomorrow (May 5).
