notations on coins for sale are not commonly known. only a few collectors are well versed with the many notations, so it is hard to ask around. the most commonly known are "missing mark" which is self explanatory, "light struck", "double struck" , etc. and the "tilted". others that appears once in a while are "S over S", "long bar" and a lot of other more.. one thing i know but is not so sure about is the term "sans serif", this refers to the number One which means that the number has no extension on top like l, or it is just a straight line, example this - 1 has the serif. please correct this if this is wrong information. thank you.
